Wineries | Cave de Cairanne

Created in 1929, the cellar is situated in the heart of the Cru of the Meridional Valley of the Rhône, in the Vaucluse region on the left bank of the Rhone. It is near the star appellations of Chateauneuf du Pape, Gigondas and Vacqueyras.

The 65 winemakers in the cellar pass on their passion for the earth from generation to generation, and they work over some 550 hectares of vines to produce quality wines.
The appellations are : Côtes du Rhône, Côtes du Rhône Villages, Villages Plan de Dieu, Cru Cairanne, Cru Rasteau as well as some organic wines and sulphite-free wines.

We are a cellar built on a human scale (a dozen winemakers produce 80% of the wines) whose ambition is to give birth to pleasurable wines with a strong character.

With grapes picked at maturity, drastic selection, and perfectly calibrated wine making, the cellar produces a grandiose series of wines, the best in their appellation.

Cave de Cairanne (Camille Cayran) knowhow is the story of a small group of devoted wine- makers who work hand in hand with a technical team to create highly expressive wines.

Respect – Knowing how to understand and perpetrate the traditions handed down to us by the founding fathers of our company is the mindset of a winemaker who is also “the gardener of his treasure”. Deeply rooted in our history, it is also a question of respecting men all the way down the creating process from the vine to the glass. It is a veritable human adventure.

Precision – Never leave anything to chance, because each gesture has an impact on the end product. Each of these gestures must be recorded and reproduced with the aim of continual improvement.
The winemaker’s gesture is a craftsman’s gesture.

Work – We encourage work in the soil and on the vine as much in traditional production as in organic production. Careful work is a prerequisite of exceptional wines.
Paying attention to the vintage : each year is different, that is what makes the experience even richer.
